Assistant Engineer / Project Manager - TOWN OF STOWE, VT

The Town of Stowe, VT, a premier four season resort community, is seeking an Assistant Engineer & Project Manager in the Department of Public Works. The position is to provide technical assistance associated with the delivery of capital improvements projects and the operations and maintenance of the Town’s public works infrastructure. This is a full-time salaried position with excellent benefits. The starting pay range is $963 to $1,143 per week, dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Highway Engineer - VHB- Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc.

The successful candidate should have 8-12 years of progressively responsible experience and have BSCE or equivalent and Vermont PE License. Responsibilities will include: roadway and bike/pedestrian design, traffic analysis, project management, client interaction, public presentation, and staff supervision and development.

Candidates should possess an understanding of completing transportation studies, final design,
developing contract plans, and implementing engineering standards/ procedures; intersection, roadway and traffic signal design; and the environmental/ development permitting process. Knowledge of InRoads, MicroStation, VT State Standards, highway capacity methodologies, and traffic analysis is preferred. Demonstrated excellence in oral presentation, technical writing, and communication skills are essential.

Site/Civil Design Engineer - VHB- Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc.

Must have BS in Civil Engineering with 3 to 6 years of experience; EIT required, PE is a plus; familiarity with VT permitting procesess;Advanced AutoCAD skills are a must and LD Desktop/Civil 3D experience desired, HydroCAD and StormCAD skill are a plus. This position includes assignments throughout Vermont from initial scoping through construction documents for a wide range of land development projects.

Responsibilities include: Site layout and grading; stormwater design; utility design; coordination of required hearings and public meetings; contract documents and construction specifications; engineer’s estimates Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; comfortable with working independently as well as on a team ;detail-oriented and quality focused.

Civil Engineering Technician - VHB- Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc.

Must have 4 -8 yrs experience with a demonstrated background of challenging civil and transportation engineering projects in VT. Technicians will be asked to perform all aspects of plan production and engineering design tasks as well as mentoring younger team members.

The position will require strong familiarity with the VTrans MicroStation CADD standards as well as experience using AutoCAD. The emphasis of work will be with our Bridge and Highway Engineering Groups along with support of our Land Development Team. Environmental Scientist - VHB- Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc.

Must have at least 3 years of working experience in a professional/consulting environment; B.S. or M.S. in environmental science, natural resources, or a closely related field. Working knowledge of the stormwater and stream alteration regulations in VT. Must be familiar with and have applied the Vermont Stream Geomorphic Assessment Protocols; must have Rosgen Level I training at a minimum and proven experience developing plans for stream restoration projects that have been constructed or have been authorized for construction.

Responsibilities include: prepare federal, state and local stormwater and stream alteration permit applications; prepare and/or review technical reports; conduct construction oversight associated with environmental permit compliance and erosion prevention and sediment control (EPSC) plan implementation; conduct stream geomorphic assessments; design stream channel restoration using natural channel design principles; assist VHB engineers with culvert/bridge replacement projects; develop and implement monitoring plans for stream restoration projects; and develop supporting figures and mapping for various projects using GIS and/or CAD.
